Target Information and Further Details
STEAP1 encodes a six-transmembrane cell surface protein located on chromosome 7q21. It is normally expressed at low levels in prostate tissue and testis but is strongly upregulated in prostate cancer and other solid tumours. Although its precise function is not fully defined, STEAP1 has been implicated in metal ion metabolism and intercellular communication.

Therapeutic strategies targeting STEAP1 include antibody-drug conjugates, radioligand therapies, and CAR-T cells, with the aim of selectively targeting STEAP1-positive cancers such as castration-resistant prostate cancer.
