Target Information and Further Details
PSMA is a type II transmembrane glycoprotein encoded by the FOLH1 gene (also known as glutamate carboxypeptidase II). It is highly expressed in prostate cancer cells, especially in metastatic and castration-resistant prostate cancer, while showing limited expression in normal tissues. PSMA is a prominent target for both diagnostic imaging (e.g., ^68Ga-PSMA PET) and therapeutic strategies such as radioligand therapy (^177Lu-PSMA-617). It is also under investigation as a target for ADCs and CAR-T therapies, reflecting its tumour-specific expression and clinical utility.
