Target Information and Further Details
LRRC15 is a type I transmembrane protein encoded on chromosome 10q23. It belongs to the leucine-rich repeat (LRR) superfamily and is involved in cell adhesion and extracellular matrix interactions. Under normal conditions, LRRC15 is expressed in mesenchymal and stromal cells but is strongly induced in cancer-associated fibroblasts (CAFs).
LRRC15 contributes to the immunosuppressive tumour microenvironment and is associated with tumour progression and metastasis. It has emerged as a target in solid tumours, particularly sarcoma, breast cancer, and glioblastoma. Therapeutic strategies include antibody-drug conjugates such as ABBV-085 and potential combinations with checkpoint inhibitors.
